Legacy and Lore: Luxury and Wilderness Tour

Mike “Sladds” Sladden has spent over 50 years immersed in Algonquin Park. His deep knowledge of the park shaped memorable day trips that share rich stories of Indigenous life, logging, railways, tourism, and the many people who’ve helped steward the park.

Learn about luxury, wilderness, and legends in the sky.

Cruise Cache Lake’s scenic channels and climb to the Skymount fire tower site for sweeping views of western Algonquin. Once home to bush hotels, millionaire retreats, and Canada’s oldest girls’ camp, this area was the heart of Algonquin’s golden age of rail tourism. Optionally, end the day with dinner at the historic Bartlett Lodge, a dreamscape setting on the lake.

Tours operate on Wednesday and depart from the Cache Lake Dock
