Tom Thomson’s Travels

I always loved the works from Tom Thomson and the Group of Seven and when I had the opportunity to paint some of Tom Thomson’s works I jumped at the Opportunity.  It Felt like I was in the canoe with him on “Oxtongue Lake” and what Tom was thinking while he was drawing and painting “The West-Wind” from 1916-1917 in Algonquin Park.  The second was “The Canoe” from 1912, it just had a feel to it and I wanted to paint this and add it to his “travels”.  The third is “Split Rock Georgian Bay.”  It is what I would call “Muskoka” and how the rocks and trees ar formed from the winds.  The fourth part is Tom’s Hands on the paddle as he glided through the waters.  I hope that I have shown Tom Thomson’s “Spirt in 2017”
