We are looking for certified CKC river kayak instructors for groups and individuals for the summer. You need to be a confident and positive team player with some whitewater instructing experience. We are looking for organized, and safety-conscious individuals who act with a high level of professionalism. Knowledge of the Minden White Water Preserve is also an asset. On the water working hours at the instructor rate of pay is dependent on the volume of lesson requests we receive. Retail work is available to supplement instruction hours at a different rate of pay.

Responsibilities

● instruct students on white water kayak equipment, paddling safety and skills
● collaborate with other team members to provide group kayak lessons
● coordinate with reservation manager, area manager and retail staff to ensure the
highest level of customer satisfaction
● look after rental equipment and keep storage facility organized
● assess and report equipment and facility conditions

Requested skills

● CKC river kayak instructor certification minimum level 1. (I1 / L1)
● Standard First Aid with CPR required
● Wilderness First Aid or Responder is an asset
● Swift Water Rescue or River Runner an asset

Hiring Notes

● Must be able to work weekends and holidays
● This position reports to the area manager and reservation coordinator
