The Toronto 2015 Pan Am Torch Relay is Coming to Huntsville!
The Town of Huntsville is very excited to welcome the TORONTO 2015 Pan Am Torch Relay & Celebration Event to our community June 3 & 4th 2015.
Torch Relay and Community Celebration:
Residents are encouraged to come out and line the streets of Huntsville on June 3rd at 5:15pm to 7:00pm to cheer on our local torchbearers as they carry the flame throughout Huntsville! On June 4th between 8:00am and 9:00am residents can again line the streets and cheer on the torchbearers as the Pan Am flame departs Huntsville on its way to another community.
In addition to the torch relay, Huntsville is pleased to announce the details of the community celebration scheduled for the evening of June 3rd. Residents are welcome to come to River Mill Park at 5:00pm to take part in the pre-flame arrival celebration and activities, which includes, indigenous and TO2015 welcoming messages, speeches from dignitaries, Pan Am Games Partner entertainment and Torch Relay Highlight videos all leading up to the flame arrival and the official lighting of the cauldron on the OLG stage. “There will be lots of fun family activities and entertainment to look forward to. We are excited to confirm that Tobin Spring and Laganza will be performing and that Gypsy Kumbia Orchestra, the OLG feature entertainment, will dazzle us with an explosion of music, dance, circus and imagination!” The community celebration will run from 5:00pm – 8:00pm in River Mill Park on June 3rd.
TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURES AND PARKING DETAILS:
Please be advised that the Pan Am Games Torch Relay Route will effect traffic and parking throughout Huntsville on June 2nd, June 3rd and June 4th. Residents and Businesses on the relay route or near River Mill Park can expect temporary delays and parking lot closures. Signage will be posted in areas along the relay route and in areas where celebrations are taking place. Please note that parking lots in the River Mill Park area will be closed June 2nd at 11:00pm for the event set-up and will reopen June 4th.
Residents can expect delays on: King William, Main Street East, John Street, Brunel Road, Forbes Hill Drive, Park Drive, Camp Kitchen Road, Veterans Way, Centre Street South, Main Street West, King Street and Dara Howell Way.

COMPLEMENTARY SHUTTLE SERVICE DETAILS:
Residents interested in a shuttle service to the torch relay community celebration should meet at the pickup location located at Robinson’s Independent Grocer, 131 Howland Drive, starting at 4:00pm on June 3rd. Shuttle services will run to and from downtown until 9:00pm on June 3rd.
