M.A.C.K. Fest 2019
239 Station Rd
Marmora, ON K0K 2M0
Canada
Mackfest 2019 planning has started, this year’s lead is Eric Chaplin, KWP’s club president.
Kawartha Whitewater Paddlers club hosts and organizes the Marmora Area Canoe and Kayak Festival (MACKfest), an annual event to celebrate the beginning of the whitewater paddling season. As spring arrives the snows of winter melt to swell the rivers in the basin known as the Lake Ontario Watershed. Many of the rivers and creeks are found in south central Ontario between Peterborough and Sharbot Lake along the Hwy. 7 corridor.
The quaint town of Marmora serves as Mackfest’s home base. Paddlers from novice to expert will find a river or playspot suited to their skills here. Visit the Rivers page to find a description of the whitewater sections. Join us at The Iron Grille Restaurant on Saturday morning, paddle the day away, then join us for a delicious buffet dinner, silent auction and a cozy bar to hang out in. Of course, there’s also always a campfire to gather around where you can catch up with river friends you probably haven’t seen for a while. On Sunday find yourself another river to explore. There are always paddlers around to answer any questions you may have about the local rivers to help you decide the best option for your paddling day.
