The Hike Haliburton Festival will see over 2,000 people participate in 100 hikes throughout the beautiful Haliburton Highlands. Hikers of all ages and abilities will come from across Ontario – and beyond – to take in the wonder of the Haliburton Highlands from September 20th-23rd, 2018 during Canada’s largest hiking festival!
The Festival is more than just traditional hiking; heavily integrating the arts, culture, heritage and foodie experiences to truly showcase the area. There are lots of great events happening throughout the Festival as well, which anyone can attend!
The Closing Ceremony on Sunday the 23rd will take place at the Haliburton Highlands Biggest Picnic Ever, which takes place in Head Lake Park (Haliburton Village) and features local food vendors, craft beers, live entertainment (The Satellites!), contests and more…

FESTIVAL EVENTS
Fall Equinox Sacred Fire
Celebrate the Fall Equinox with Karen Moon Beam of Gaia’s Den. You will sing, dance & drum at the Sacred Fire beside Turtle Waterfall. Rain or shine, bring warm, comfortable attire, a snack, water bottle & flashlight. The fire will be lit at 6:30. Please arrive 15 minutes early to settle in. Suitable for adults. No dogs please.

LEADER BIO: Karen Moon Beam is an Energy Healer & Teacher trained in Indigenous & Celtic Shamanic traditions. Her practice, Bridging Dimensions, offers holistic, earth‐based approaches to self‐transformation. Karen is a certified hike leader (Hike Ontario).
TIME: 6:30 PM – until the fire goes out
DIRECTIONS: From Haliburton take Hwy 118 east 19 km to the Essonville Line (County Rd 4). Turn left to Wilberforce, approximately 8 km. Turn left onto Loop Rd (County Rd 648) and travel to Harcourt, approximately 8 km. 2 km past Harcourt turn left on the Elephant Lake Rd. (County Rd. 10) and continue approx. 10 km to Gaia’s Den on the left (west) side of the County Road. Parking is along the road. From Minden take County Rd 21 to Haliburton. Distance is approx. 25km. From Haliburton take Hwy 118 east to Essonville Line (County Rd 4) to Wilberforce, turn left onto Loop Rd (County Rd 648) and travel to Harcourt. Lipbone Redding in Concert
Start the Festival off on the right note with a concert featuring Lipbone Redding, who has been described as “One-Man Orchestra. Unplugged. Unexpected.” Join Lipbone for an evening of roots and blues music at a live music hot spot.

The Good Lovelies in Concert
JUNO and four-time CFMA award winners, The Good Lovelies return once again to the Haliburton Highlands. Kerri Ough, Sue Passmore, and Caroline Brooks – immensely talented vocalists and songwriters in their own right; however, it’s their voices interwoven in harmony – powerful and pure, organic and inspiring – that elevates the Good Lovelies from impressive to peerless. This concert is presented by the Haliburton County Folk Society.

Family Harvest Festival
Head down to Irondale for a fun and informative visit. There will be vendors, food, games for children, gardens and explore history with various tours.

Turn left onto Irondale Rd (the second entrance ‐ approximately 6.5km). At the T intersection, turn right and then left onto Elm Rd. The distance from Haliburton is approx. 35 km. Fall Harvest Pork Dinner
Enjoy a home cooked pork dinner prepared by the volunteers of the Haliburton County Historical Society. Entertainment by Beth Johns, Norris Turner and friends. Proceeds will go to the Historical Society.

Chris Smith Band in Concert
Join us for an evening of smooth jazz with one of Canada’s top talents, Chris Smith and his band. Chris has been nominated for nine Canadian Smooth Jazz Awards including Best Album, Best Song and Best Male Vocalist. His shows are always high energy with a great mix of new tunes and old standards. You may even want to hit the dance floor!

Haliburton Highlands Biggest Picnic Ever
Join us for the Haliburton Highlands community picnic and closing ceremonies of the 2017 Hike Haliburton, a celebration of food and outdoor living. There will be local food, demonstrations exhibitors, live entertainment, a fashion show featuring outdoor clothing and gear, and a “best picnic blanket” contest. We are pleased to bring back Circle 5 , a reggae band to help wrap up this years Festival. Bring your picnic blanket and lunch or buy your picnic ingredients from local food vendors.
