Here is your chance to own one of the Group of Seven style canoes by Gerry Lantaigne and the Huntsville Festival of the Arts or one of 75 painted paddles by local artists. All of the canoes and paddles are on display at the Algonquin Theatre until Monday, September 27th.

The auction will be held online, just like a live auction. The first lot will start to close at 8 pm EST on Monday, September 27th. You’ll have two minutes to bid on that lot before the next one starts to close. As a live auction, if there are bids in the last minute, the bidding will continue until no more bids are received. Be prepared to defend your bids!

Auction Details:

  • Date: Monday, September 27th, 2021, starting at 8:00 pm EST

  • Auction Details: https://algonquinoutfitters.hibid.com/auction/307015/2021-algonquin-outfitters-paddle-art-auction/
  • Bids: Our auction operates under Flat Bidding rules meaning if the lot is $25 and you bid $100, you will be placing a bid of $100 right away on the lot, unlike eBay-style proxy bidding where the bid is only raised by the minimum bid amount. Be aware that your bid is set to what you bid, not increased by the minimum amount. Depending on the value of the current bid, a set minimum bid raise value will be in effect. Taxes and shipping are extra.
  • Shipping: Shipping is the bidder’s responsibility and will be charged as follows: $30 Canada, $50 North America, $100-$150+ rest of the world. Canoes can not be shipped and must be picked up from Huntsville, Ontario.
  • Why are some paddles opening bids at $9,000,000?  Algonquin Outfitters has chosen not to profit from indigenous culture. With respect to the artists’ work and effort, a $100 donation will be made by Algonquin Outfitters for each of these paddles to the auction’s charities. [More Info]

If you have a problem with one of your bids or have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact us right away to let us know so we can correct bids. Once the auction closes, all bids are final.
