Greenhorn Service

Start your trip off right

The Greenhorn Service is a short program covering basic paddling and camping skills.

Available as an option with any of our complete outfitting packages.

This service is included free of charge as part of our Ultimate Outfitting package and, for a small fee, is an option for any complete outfitting customers who feel they might need a basic course in canoe trip skills. One of our staff will lead you on a three-hour “mini-trip” and cover skills like camp setup, food storage, portaging and paddling tips. If you haven’t booked an Ultimate Outfitting package, the charge is $25 per person, with a minimum of two adults. Children in the group are free. This service is only available by advance reservation at our Oxtongue Lake location. If your travel schedule permits, we can do the Greenhorn Service on the afternoon before you start your trip. Otherwise, we will do it when you arrive, preferably in the morning.
