Backpacker Trip Outfitting

Another excellent way to explore Algonquin Park is on foot! Pack your tent, sleeping bag, gear and food into a backpack and check out Algonquin Park’s extensive network of backpacking trails. Although Algonquin Outfitters is renowned for custom canoe trips in Algonquin Park, we can certainly help those who choose to explore the park with their hiking boots on.

Algonquin Park offers some world-class Canadian Shield hiking trails that include the Western Uplands Backpacking Trail (32-88 km in three loops), Highland Backpacking Trail (9 and 35 km loops) and the Eastern Pines Backpacking Trail (6-15 km).

A great resource to start planning your trip is the Algonquin Backpacking Trails Map.

In the winter, Algonquin Park’s backcountry opens up to backpacking adventures by snowshoe. Add a winter sleeping bag, a pair of snowshoes and poles, and you’re all set to explore Algonquin Park’s wintry wilderness!

“Everywhere is walking distance if you have the time.”
